Wind turbine units represent the most valuable assets within a wind farm, accounting for over 60% of total wind power project investment. Once struck by lightning (especially damage to critical components including turbine blades and generators), operators will suffer dual losses: lost power generation revenue during downtime, plus substantial costs for disassembly, replacement and transportation of damaged parts.
