1. External Direct Lightning Protection
We deploy conventional lightning rods and RY® PDC specialized lightning rods for BESS outdoor protection. Compliant with UNE 21186:2011 and IEC 62305 international standards, these devices efficiently capture and conduct lightning discharges. Cooperated with matched down conductors and optimized grounding systems, the solution achieves rapid lightning current dissipation and effectively eliminates structural and electrical safety hazards of energy storage stations.
2. Internal Equipment Surge Protection
Standard-compliant SPDs designed per IEC 61643 are configured to protect core BESS equipment, including power converters and Battery Management Systems (BMS). Equipped with professional equipotential bonding technology, the system ensures uniform current distribution and stable surge release, preventing equipment burnout and system shutdown caused by transient surges, while ensuring on-site personnel safety.
3. Intelligent Lightning Early Warning Protection
The RY® lightning early warning system (compliant with IEC 62793:2020) is adopted for proactive risk prevention. It monitors real-time changes in atmospheric electric fields to accurately predict incoming thunderstorms, supporting proactive safety operations such as cutting power to sensitive equipment and activating emergency protocols, realizing advance warning and active defense against lightning risks for BESS systems.
