Overview
An ESE (Early Streamer Emission) lightning rod — also called an ESE air terminal — is an external lightning protection device designed to intercept lightning strikes earlier and over a wider area than a conventional Franklin rod. By launching its upward connecting leader ahead of surrounding objects, an ESE terminal establishes the preferred strike point and safely channels the lightning current to earth through the down conductor and earthing system.
