The HEPL-RY Series High-Voltage Electromagnetic Pulse Lightning
The HEPL-RY Series High-Voltage Electromagnetic Pulse Lightning Protection Device for Power Lines is an air-gap switch type direct lightning protection unit. Lightning current captured by the air terminal flows into the built-in high-voltage electromagnetic pulse wave impeder. A self-dissipating oscillating circuit is formed, and capacitive gap discharge absorbs lightning energy to soften the lightning current, lowering its amplitude and steepness. When installed on overhead transmission lines, this device greatly reduces lightning shielding failure risks. It safely conducts lightning energy to earth and limits step voltage, efficiently preventing shielding failure and back flashover. The HEPL-RY device comprises three core parts: air terminal, high-voltage electromagnetic pulse wave impeder (Wave Impeder), and supporting rod.
